Introduction to Persian Script
Welcome to your first lesson in Persian! The Persian alphabet
(الفبای فارسی) is one of the most beautiful writing systems in the
world. It consists of 32 letters and is written from right to left,
just like Arabic and Hebrew.
Each letter can have up to four different forms depending on its
position in a word:
- Isolated: When the letter stands alone
- Initial: At the beginning of a word
- Medial: In the middle of a word
- Final: At the end of a word
Don't worry about memorizing all forms at once - we'll start with
the basic shapes and pronunciations!
